Formline

Formline privacy policy

Effective 22 October 2026. Applies to the Formline app for Android (com.formline.app), published on Google Play by the developer named on its store listing.

Your training data stays on your phone

Your plan and what it was built from (goal, level, days, session length, equipment, movements to avoid), every set you log, your records, your custom exercises, the numbers you enter in the calculators (such as age, height, weight and body measurements) and your settings are stored in the app's private storage on your phone. Formline has no account and no server of ours. None of this is sent to us or to anyone else, advertisers included.

The questions at first start

Before your first plan, Formline asks whether you are under 18, pregnant, or have an illness or take medication that affects exercise. The answers decide only whether the app continues. They are not saved; the app remembers only that the questions were answered.

Export, import and deleting your data

Settings has an export of all your data as one file, saved wherever you choose. We never receive it. You can import that file into Formline on another phone.

To delete everything Formline has stored, uninstall the app, or open your phone's Settings, Apps, Formline, Storage and tap Clear storage. We hold no copy, so there is nothing to delete on our side.

Advertising

Formline is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent ad fraud, the Google Mobile Ads software in the app collects your IP address (from which an approximate location can be estimated), your device's advertising ID and app set ID, how you use the app and its ads (app launches, taps, video views) and diagnostic data such as launch time. Google collects this, not us, under Google's privacy policy; How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services explains more. Your training data, body measurements and calculator entries are never passed to the ads software.

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and some US states), the app asks for your choice before any ad is requested, and you can change it at any time in Settings, Privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings, and see or change how Google personalises ads at My Ad Center.

Watching an ad for 24 hours without ads, and buying the removal of ads, change only whether ads are shown.

Purchases

Removing ads is a one-time purchase through Google Play. Payment details go to Google Play only. The app asks Google Play whether you own the purchase and keeps the answer on your phone; Restore purchases asks again.

Notifications and alarms

The rest timer shows a notification while it runs in the background and sets an alarm on your phone so it ends on time. The training-day reminder is off unless you turn it on. Both are scheduled on your phone; no notification comes from a server.

Backup

Formline's data is left out of Android's backup to your Google account and out of phone-to-phone transfer, so it is never copied off the phone that way. To move your data to a new phone, use the export and import in Settings.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and Turkey's KVKK you have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data. For your Formline data you use these rights directly on your phone, as described above, because we hold none of it. For advertising data, use Settings, Privacy choices in the app, your advertising ID settings and My Ad Center. You can write to us with any question or complaint, and you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Who Formline is for

Formline is for adults 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and the questions at first start turn away anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new effective date.
